Dubai is a city that has jaw-dropping attractions in every corner. With so many things to do, it can be hard to decide where to visit! A few weeks ago, I travelled to Dubai with the girls, and had such a magical adventure. I wanted to share my favourite spots, so read on to get some ideas on where to visit when you go to Dubai.
WHERE TO STAY
When choosing a place to stay in Dubai, there are so many options. There are beach front hotels, city view hotels, and even camping in the desert! Start by deciding what sort of vacation you are after. On this trip, I wanted easy access to all of the beautiful places Dubai had to offer, and was lucky enough to partner with M Hotel Downtown Dubai.
The M Hotel is centrally located which makes every attraction 5 minutes to 25 minutes away. We were so close to everything, which kept our travel costs down. The room came complete with a buffet breakfast that had everything you could possibly want. The hummus was my favourite!
When I travel great distances, I need good coffee. I am sure I could live without it, but why? The M Hotel lobby cafe was the perfect place to kick my jet lag with a tasty cappuccino before heading out for the day.
There was also a quaint corner where you could enjoy a cup of arabic coffee! A little too strong for my taste, but it was fun to partake in a cultural experience.
Our room was massive, with floor to ceiling windows! It accommodated 3 girls, with big suit cases and lots of beauty products! The bed was super comfy too!
This may sound strange, but I LOVED the bathroom. So much natural light and a giant soaker tub over-looking the city. Everything was provided. Robes, large towels, all the toiletries including a toothbrush (which I often forget to pack.)
DUBAI HOT SPOT #1: Sunset Beach
Even if you don’t go in the hotel (its very luxurious), the view of the Burj Al Arab is gorgeous. This public beach near the hotel give you a perfect view of its beautiful architecture! You can get to this location by hopping in an Uber, or taxi and asking to visit sunset beach, or Umm Suqeim beach.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #2: Palm Island
If you want to be super adventurous, you an skydive and see the palm from the sky. We took the safe route and visited the One&Only Mirage at the base of the palm for drinks at sunset. The private beach is absolutely stunning.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #3: Atlantis Hotel Aquarium
The Palm is also home to Atlantis that has most amazing aquarium I have ever been to (so far.) It was so meditative, I could have sat there for hours watching the sting rays, sharks and fish gliding in the water. The admission is about $37.00 CAD and is worth the visit.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #4: Desert Safari
Going on a desert safari was my favourite experience. There are many excursion companies that provide desert safari adventures. Platinum Heritage was our vendor of choice. You get to explore the desert in a vintage Land Rover, drink juice at a falcon show, and eat a 6 course meal at a private desert oasis.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #5: Dubai Miracle Garden
If you like flowers, this is a site you don’t want to miss. It is breath taking, inexpensive to enter (12.25 USD) and makes for some pretty amazing photos.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #6: Burj Khalifa Sky Experience
The Sky Experience is a little more expensive then general admission (152 USD vs. 57 USD), but is worth every penny. For starters, you avoid the line ups which can be tremendously long in peak seasons and you get to experience the 148th floor. You get escorted to a beautiful lounge where you are greeted with sweet treats and juice. Most importantly, you get an unobstructed view of the city (the general decks are quite busy). Included in your admission, you also get access to the lower decks 125 & 124, so treat yourself.
DUBAI HOT SPOT #7: Bab Al Shams
A dear friend of mine that lives in Dubai took us to the beautiful Bab Al Shams resort for dinner. It is nestled in the middle of the desert just outside the city. The food was incredible and we were serenaded by an amazing live artist. There is also a desert experience on the resort grounds if you want to kill two birds with one stone!
Dubai has many places to visit, but these were the spots that I managed to get to in my week long stay. A huge thanks to M Hotel for hosting the stay!
